Welcome to the Heidelberg International Ski Club (HISC). HISC has been serving the Heidelberg community since 1956. Join us for the 2010 - 2011 season, where we will provide a variety of ski trips throughout Europe and social events in our own backyard!

Meeting Directions

We meet at the Hotel Zagreb in Schwetzingen. If coming from the A-5 and PHV take:

  • B-535, Speyerstraße, towards Schwetzingen
  • Left at first traffic light, towards Oftersheim
  • Right at first street, on Scheffelstraße
  • First left after the PennyMarkt (by Opel dealership) on Robert-Boschstraße
  • Go 2 blocks to Hotel Zagreb on left

Social Events & Information

Join us on Wednesday, Sept 15 at 7:00 for our welcome back social. Catch up with all your friends from last season.

Members get a free drink! Alternate Wednesdays, at 7:00 at the Hotel Zagreb.

Trips opening next social:

Oct 8-11 - Sölden, Austria. This is our traditional first trip with early season glacier skiing. You will get a chance to test some skis and boards that are new on the market this year. Price: 260

Dec 12-19 or 19-26 - Arabba, Italy. Our traditional Christmas trips are back to the Hotel Evaldo and Hotel Malita in Arabba, Italy. These trips usually sell out the first night, so be sure to get there early to get a sign up number. Price: Hotel Malita is 80 per day. Hotel Evaldo is 85 per day

Other open and upcoming trips:

Sept 18 - Bad Durkheim Wurstfest Join us as we return to the 570-year-old Wurst Market in Bad Durkheim.  It's the Oktoberfest for wine lovers.  Choose from 150 different wines and sample the region's gastronimic specialties.  There are large wine halls with music, or smaller stands. Also enjoy the carnival on the grounds. Price: 15

Oct 2 - Bad Canstatt SOLD OUT/ Wait List As in years past, we will visit the world-famous Bad Cannstatter fest in Stuttgart.  This year we have made reservations for two busloads of 88 people to attend!  We will have our own section of the tent. Bad Cannstatt is the Stuttgart cousin to the Bavarian Oktoberfest (beer fest).  Unlike some other German fests, we must reserve tables, which include a mandatory three liters of beer and one half-chicken dinner. Price: 45

Trip deposits

The minimum deposit is 35€ per person. You may put down more. The 35€ mandatory deposit is non-refundable; additional deposit amounts could be refunded in case of cancellation.

All trip payments, including deposits, must be made in Euros.

All our payments to hotels or tour companies must be in Euro and in almost every case the deposit the club must pay is well over the 35€ per person that we ask you to pay to hold your reservation.
