About this trip: Ask anyone who has skied most of the resorts in Europe (and there are a few of them in HISC) to name their favorite location – many of them will name “Three Valleys.” Extensive local slopes to suit all abilities and good access to the rest of the vast Three Valleys. There are lots of off-piste areas for experts, unbeatable quality and quantity for intermediates, and a good late-season choice for beginners. The good snow is great for boarders who are beginners or carvers and there are plenty of off-piste options for free-riders. Terrain-park and boarder-cross courses also provide boarder thrills. Ski lessons are available for children five and older. This is a vacation the family will not forget. Tourist info: www.valthorens.com Trip Price: These are apartments, and the price is per person. You will need to bring your own linen & towels.
The trip is 7 nights (Saturday - Saturday) and the price includes transportation. Skiing: We will ski at Les Trois Vallées (Three Valleys) with 197 lifts. There are 150 km of black runs, 250 km of red runs, and 200 km of blue runs. This is a poor location for cross country skiing. Due to the wide-open expanse of this snow-sure resort, Val Thorens caters to skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities. Whatever alpine challenge you might be after, you will certainly find it in Les Trois Vallées.For those extremists among us, be sure not to miss the excellent runs around the Courchevel area, including the ‘Tiefschwarze Extrempiste’ which runs from the summit to the town with a vertical drop of over 1400m! For those who like things on the more reasonable side, take a day to do a ski circuit from Val Thorens to Les Menuires to Méribel and back, enjoying the panoramic alpine scenery and French cuisine along the way. Our apartments are also located close to the two main beginners slopes, providing access for those of us trying boarding or skiing for the first time! Trip Opens: February 16 Final Payment Due: March 30 Hotel: We will be staying at the 3-star Chamoix D’Or. You will be in apartments with full kitchens. The complex has fitness facilities and a game room. They can be reached at +33 479 013 434. Lift Passes: An adult 6-day lift pass is 250€. Prices are approximate and subject to change without notice. The TC is not responsible for equipment rental or sizing. The bus will not wait for those turning in equipment at the last minute; please plan accordingly. Lessons: Lessons are available. Recommend referring to the tourist info web site for more information. Departure: The bus will depart PHV from the Dental Clinic parking lot at TBD. The travel time is approximately 9 hours. When paid in full, members may reserve/select their bus seat. The bus waits for no one.
