A super ski area, but this trip is really about the end of ski year party. This year it features Alicia Keys!

About this trip: The 22nd annual “Frühlingsschneefest” is a week long ‘happening’ highlighted by a top of the mountain concert featuring Alicia Keys.  Those who survive the Saturday night party are likely to have the 200 km of groomed runs pretty much to themselves early on Sunday morning.  This year we are staying in Ischgl for the party!  The Alpenrose hotel is 300 m from the center of Ischgl and 100m from the lifts.  We intend to arrive in Ischgl early enough on Friday evening to have dinner and participate in the pre-concert festivities in town.

Ischgl is a lovely alpine town, straddling the Austrian/Swiss border. Ischgl and neighboring Samnaun, Switzerland offer over 200 km of prepared slopes (20% is beginner, 70% intermediate and 10% expert). You can enjoy skiing in two countries and skiers of all abilities can find slopes to fit their skill level. There are numerous mountainside restaurants for your dining pleasure. Ischgl is also a great Après’ Ski village with plenty of nightlife. For more info concerning Ischgl, access the website: www.ischgl.at

Trip Opens: March 3

Final Payment Due: April 14

Trip Price: 235€, Single Supplement 20€. The trip is 2 nights (Friday - Sunday) and the price includes transportation, room with bath or shower, 2 breakfasts, and 2 dinners.

Hotel: We will be staying at the 3-star Hotel Alpenrose. The hotel can be reached at +43 5444 5276.

Skiing: Ischgl is spring skiing! That means that the slopes will likely be icy in the morning and slushy in the afternoon. Best bet is to plan to ski between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM. The Silvretta-Arena, a paradise for skiers, connects Ischgl and the Swiss duty-free zone of Samnaun (if you wish to shop duty free bring your passport) via 42 ski lift- and cable car facilities and approx. 200 km of well-groomed pistes. These cover 40 km of black runs, 90 km of red runs, and 70 km of blue runs. It is too late in the season for cross country skiing. Cross country skiing is available up the mountain and also around the town if there is still snow in the valley. For additional information concerning the ski area, access the following Website: www.silvretta.at

Lift Passes: An adult 1-day lift pass is 45€ and a child pass is 25€. Prices are approximate.

Equipment Rental: Ski equipment rental is readily available at the resort but it is more expensive than renting through outdoor rec. Renting prior to departure may be more convenient for you. The TC is not responsible for equipment rental or sizing. The bus will not wait for those turning in equipment at the last minute; please plan accordingly.

Lessons: Lessons are available. Recommend referring to the tourist info web site for more information.

Departure: The bus will depart PHV from the Dental Clinic parking lot at 1:00 pm (13:00). The travel time is approximately 6 hours. When paid in full, members may reserve/select their bus seat. The bus waits for no one. Check-in with the TC prior to 16:45 or risk being assessed a 10€ penalty fee that will be used to support the trip party fund. Special Note: Please pack lightly, the bus has limited cargo carrying capacity. Limit yourself to an overnight bag, ski boot bag, and skis. Thanks.

Return: The trip captain will notify skiers of the departure time the night before departure and again the morning of departure.

Enjoy the trip!
