About this trip: Arraba is a small town in the Dolomite region of Italy. The town itself is quiet and only has a few shops and bars. Nevertheless, Arabba has been a HISC favorite for over 20 years. The Dolomiti Superski region is huge and well connected. From Arabba you can ski around the famous Sella Ronda in either direction—a 15 mile round trip. Fortunately there are wonderful restaurants and bars on the slopes.
Your only worry – will your clothes still fit at the end of your stay? From Arabba, ski over 200 connected runs in the Dolomiti ski region. Beginners will find skiing in and out of Arabba a little dicey but a short drive over the mountain pass opens up a world of blue runs. Our fabulous TC will lead interested participants on wonderful ski safaris that always include a favorite lunch destination, end of day bar stop, or unique ski adventure. The hotel provides awesome Italian food and hospitality, a luxurious spa, and an elegant Christmas dinner – and there is a special guest appearance. NOTE: 5-night minimum stay recommended.
While the ski area has mostly intermediate and beginner runs, there are limited beginner runs in Arabba. It is not possible to ski from Arabba to another town and back without skiing at least one red run; therefore this resort is not recommended for novice skiers. The Evaldo Hotel has been HISC’s home for Christmas since 2002. The hotel has great Italian food, friendly service, a wonderful sauna, and an elegant Christmas dinner. This is a U-Drive trip.

Trip Price: 580€ for 7 nights or 85€/night for fewer than 7 nights. The price includes room with bath or shower, breakfasts, and dinners. No transportation – this is a U-drive.
Hotel: We will be staying at the 4-star Hotel Evaldo in Arabba. The hotel has a sauna, solarium, steam bath, indoor pool, and bar. There is a masseuse for an additional fee, and they provide shuttle service to local lifts. They can be reached at +39-436-79109.
Skiing: We will ski at Dolomiti Superski with 463 lifts. These cover 120 km of black runs, 720 km of red runs, and 360 km of blue runs. Cross country skiing is probably not possible.
Lift Passes: An adult 6-day lift pass is 210€ and a senior pass is 180€. A child pass is 150€ and kids up to 8 years (born after 28.11.2001) are entitled to a free ski pass for the same period (excludes daily, 12 days in a season and season passes) upon purchase of a ski pass by the adult relative. Prices are approximate.
Equipment Rental: Ski equipment rental is readily available at the resort but it is more expensive than renting through outdoor rec. Renting prior to departure may be more convenient for you. The TC is not responsible for equipment rental or sizing.
Lessons: Lessons are available. Recommend referring to the tourist info web site for more information.
Departure: U-Drive. Travel time is approximately 8 hours. Specific driving instructions will be provided at a later date.
