- Trips are open for sign-up from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. during the Wednesday
social meetings. Opening dates are published on this website, in the
HISC ski guide, or in the Snosheet.
- You may also sign up for a trip by contacting the trip captain (TC)
after the first sign-up night. Contact the TC through the email address
listed in the HISC website. If you have trouble contacting the TC, contact
the Trip Captain Manager, Leslie Mehall.
- You must show your current HISC membership card and provide a minimum
non-refundable 35€ deposit to sign up for an HISC trip.
A member of a qualifying reciprocal club may sign up for any trip after
its opening night. Sign-ups on opening night are reserved for HISC members.
- You, as an HISC member, may sign up yourself, your immediate family
members and/or up to two other HISC members. You must make
35€ deposits for each person and present an HISC member card for each person you
sign up. If you ask another HISC member to sign you up for a trip, you
are responsible for paying for the trip in full by the closing
date or for any cancellation fees that may be incurred
for the trip.
- Guest policy: You, as an HISC member, may sign up
four guests starting on the second sign-up night. The HISC member must
accompany their guests on that trip. The guest must pay an additional
10€ non-refundable sign-up fee. Note: A guest
must reside outside Germany. Guests residing within Germany must join the club in order to be signed up for a trip.
- Youth policy: All members under the age of 18 not
accompanied by a parent or guardian must have a sponsor
over 21 with a medical Power of Attorney on the same trip. The sponsor
must present the Power of Attorney to the Trip Captain prior to final
payment. For trip purposes, the sponsor assumes all responsibility (including
financial) for the member under 18. Children under the age of five are
not allowed on HISC buses unless explicitly stated in the trip description
on this website or in the ski guide or snosheet.
- Any member has the option of driving and joining the group at the
hotel.
- Confirmed Trip List: Each TC maintains a list of
spaces allocated for the trip and assigned each one on a first-come,
first-served basis. The TC adds a member's name to the trip list only
after the required trip deposit is paid to the club. Trip spaces
are the property of HISC and are not negotiable or transferable to other
members. If you sign up for a trip and do not pay the deposit
that night, you lose your space.
- Early Bird Policy: A 20€ discount will be received
by paying for the trip in full on opening night only. After the night on which the trip opens, the trip will be sold at full price.
Early sign-ups will allow HISC council to better serve the membership
by obtaining more spaces at the hotel when demand warrants or canceling
a trip before a non-refundable deposit is due to the hotel when there is little interest in the
trip.
- Waiting List: Once all confirmed spaces are sold,
the TC will start a waiting list. All persons wanting to sign up for
the waiting list may do so at any meeting. No deposit is required for
the waiting list. Once a person moves from the waiting list to the confirmed
list, they will be notified by the TC and must at least pay the deposit
within 24 hours of notification. If they move to the confirmed list
after the closing night, they will be required to pay the TC in full
within 24 hours.
- The SAF Form: When you sign up, the TC issues you
the white and pink copies of a space allocation form (SAF) to present
with payment to the cashier. This form indicates your name, membership
number, and the amount of money you are paying. The cashier accepts
the payment and returns the pink copy to you as proof of payment.
- Non refundable Deposit: You must pay 35€ non-refundable
trip deposit on the night you sign up (unless otherwise noted). Your
space on the trip is not reserved until you pay the deposit. HISC will
refund all deposits if HISC must cancel a trip.
- Forms of Payment: All payments must be in Euros.
HISC only accepts Euro checks and cash. Uberweisungsauftrag are also
accepted.
- Final Payment: Each member must make payment in full
to the cashier no later than the final payment date. The final payment
date, unless otherwise noted, is the night that the trip closes. The
TC removes members from the confirmed list who do not make complete
payment by the final payment date. The TC offers the space to the first
eligible person on the waiting list. If you fail to make payment in
full, you lose your space and your deposit.
- Seating Chart: You may reserve a seat on the bus
after making your final payment and presenting the initialed pink SAF
to the TC. Note: the seating chart is generic and may not match the
bus configuration (e.g. the bathroom may be after a different row).
Your seat is reserved by its location relative to the first row of the
bus, not the bathroom.
- Cancellation policy: Click
here to read the trip cancellation policy.
- Refund: All refunds are made by Euro check. The
Treasurer makes refunds after the trip returns and is financially reviewed
by the Executive Council. The Treasurer holds refund checks for 90 days,
after which unclaimed checks are voided and will not be reissued. You
should pick up your refund at the social or make other arrangements
with the Treasurer. The Executive Council rules on situations involving
refunds not specifically addressed above.
- Trip Changes: HISC trips must have a minimum number
of participants, normally about 30, to break even financially. HISC
reserves the right to change or cancel trips and/or services as necessary
for the overall benefit of HISC members.
