Trip Cancellation Policy

 

We hope you don't need to cancel, but we understand that circumstances sometimes mean that you cannot attend a trip that you have signed up for.

If you must cancel, please notify the trip captain(TC) in writing or by email as soon as possible. However, you will lose your non-refundable 35€  deposit.

If HISC can fill your place with someone on the waiting list, you will only lose your 35€ deposit. If there is no waiting list, you may recruit a replacement. They must pay the TC in full. You will lose only your deposit.

If you cancel and HISC cannot fill your spot, you will be responsible for any cost incurred by HISC. These might include unused bus and hotel space and any cancellation fees charged by the tour operator up to the full cost of the trip.

If you must cancel as a result of your work or TDY, HISC may absorb the cost above the deposit amount. You must present TDY orders or other sufficient documentation to the TC Manager and request a refund (minus deposit).

If you cance and are due a refund, you must wait until after the trip is completed and the HISC Treasurer caculates the final cost of the trip. Only then can the HISC Treasurer determine the cost of the cancellation.

If the entire trip is cancelled, HISC will provide a full refund, including deposit.
