Welcome to the Heidelberg International Ski Club (HISC). HISC has been serving the Heidelberg community since 1956. Join us for the 2009 - 2010 season, where we will provide a variety of ski trips throughout Europe and social events in our own backyard!

Meeting Directions

We meet at the Hotel Zagreb in Schwetzingen. If coming from the A-5 and PHV take:

  • B-535, Speyerstraße, towards Schwetzingen
  • Left at first traffic light, towards Oftersheim
  • Right at first street, on Scheffelstraße
  • First left after the PennyMarkt (by Opel dealership) on Robert-Boschstraße
  • Go 2 blocks to Hotel Zagreb on left

Social Events & Information

Our next meeting is February 17. Come join us for Mardi Gras celebration.

Members get a free drink! Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 7:00 at the Hotel Zagreb.

If you are interested in a sold out trip, put yourself on the wait list. We can often accomodate everyone on the wait list, and there is no obligation on your part to go.

No new trips open on Feb 17, but there are several open trips to sign up for.

Other upcoming and open trips:

Feb 12 - 15 - Zell am See - 2 spaces left - Contact Val Laragy directly if you wish a spot on this trip. We have one double room. We stay on top of the mountain and you can get your first run in before breakfast. The price is 300€.

Feb 12 - 15 - Ski Safari - This year our ski safari is going to a different area, but it is still all about the skiing. We will stay in Landeck and ski 3 different areas in 4 days. The price 310€.

Feb 26 - 28 - Engelberg - At Engelberg there are two major areas. We will stay at the 4-star Hotel Pilatus, and this is one of our least expensive trips at only 185€.

Mar 12 - 14 - Lauterbrunnen - It is walking distance to the cog train that sweeps you up to Kleine Scheidegg on one side of the valley and to Schilthorn on the other side of the valley...two ski areas on one weekend. The price is 295€.

March 26 - 28 - Flims-Laax - The White Arena provides outstanding skiing for intermediates and enough hard-core black runs and off-piste skiing to challenge the most advanced skier. Beginners can keep busy on the Vorab glacier or under La Siala peak.  Langlaufers have 60 km of double-tracked loops and there’s an 8 km skate loop. This year our hotel is located directly in Flims. This trip includes only bed & breakfast, giving you a chance to sample a dinner in town, and the price is discounted as well, our cheapest trip at only 180€.

Apr 3 - 10 or 10 - 17 - Val Thorens - Spend your spring break in an apartment at Europe’s highest resort, with guaranteed good snow. Prices from 355€ - 520€.

HISC socials are family-oriented; children are always welcome and we regularly have games, activities, and prizes for the kids.

Mardi Gras & Council Nominations - Masks, music, and mayhem - join the HISC Krewe as we celebrate Mardi Gras, family style. Prizes for the most creative and colorful masks and costumes. And be thinking of who you'd like to see leading your ski club next season, as tonight we'll open the nominations for HISC council positions for next year. Trip deposits

The minimum deposit is 35€ per person. You may put down more. The 35€ mandatory deposit is non-refundable; additional deposit amounts could be refunded in case of cancellation.

All trip payments, including deposits, must be made in Euros.

All our payments to hotels or tour companies must be in Euro and in almost every case the deposit the club must pay is well over the 35€ per person that we ask you to pay to hold your reservation.
